Jump starting a car is one of our services that we treat like every other emergency. We won’t put it off or take our time arriving to your location since a dead battery is as important to us as any other emergency. This is because we value our customers and their precious time. Therefore, we will arrive prompt, prepared, and jump your vehicle as fast and safe as possible. If your battery is too dead, then we will commit time charging it before attempting to jump it. When you call us, we treat every job with the same level of importance.

Can it be Jumped?
Sometimes a battery is too dead to hold a charge, or an alternator is the cause of the problem. In these instances, we will be unable to jump your car since there are underlying issues. However, we will not just up and abandon you. There are a number of things that can be done, including towing, minor vehicle repairs, flat tire service and possibly a battery replacement. Our experienced driver will provide you with some options and work with you to create a plan of action moving forward. Either way we will make sure that your problem is taken care of.

Dead Battery Testing
If we attempt to jump your vehicle and it doesn’t work, then we will start the analysis process. Our crews know how to test your battery to see if it is holding a charge. Dead battery testing can be performed in the field with the right equipment which we will always have with us when we arrive for a jump start. If the battery is completely dead, then we will continue problem-solving to the full extent of our field capabilities. In some instances, we will have replacement batteries that are in good enough condition to get your car to the nearest auto-parts store.

Safety First
Capital Towing DC follows all motor vehicle and federal safety regulations established for tow trucks and commercial vehicles. If you ever see us not following a regulation, please feel free to reach out to one of our managers to discuss the event. While jumping your battery, we will be safe and focused so that you don’t have to worry about harm to yourself or vehicle. Our crews are trained to connect batteries in the right order and will always wear proper protective equipment. We put safety at the top of our priority list.

Winter Driving
Some batteries are not designed to run in winter weather. Depending on the cold cranking amps that your battery is prepared for will determine how well it holds up in cold weather. Most of the time we can jump these batteries, especially if you have recently driven it. As long as the current stays warm and active, your battery will survive the winter and not freeze up. We can analyze this when we arrive to jump your battery, and can provide recommendations for your vehicle and the cold cranking amps that should be generated from your battery.
